Why doesn’t the main character have a name?
In The Fire Within, names carry real power. By not sharing her name, the protagonist keeps control over herself, even when others try to limit her. It’s a survival tactic she learned on the day her life changed, and it reminds readers that identity and agency can be claimed, even in difficult circumstances.
Is this a standalone book or part of a series?
This is the first book in a series. The story continues in Book 2, The Goddess of Fire, which I am currently working on. Each book explores new challenges and growth for the main character, but Book 1 can be read on its own.
Do I need to know Greek mythology to enjoy this book?
No. You don’t need any prior knowledge. The story introduces Greek gods like Zeus and Hades in a way that’s clear and understandable within the story. Readers can enjoy the adventure and the characters without having studied mythology.
Is the main character’s disability portrayed realistically?
Yes. Her disability affects her daily life and shapes the choices she makes. It doesn’t disappear when convenient for the plot. Instead, she manages pain through practical methods like cold therapy and walking barefoot. The story shows her resilience without making her disability her only defining trait.
What age group is this book appropriate for?
The Fire Within is written for adult readers. The themes include defiance, personal freedom, and moral choices, alongside fantasy elements and strong female characters.
Are the characters based on real people?
No. The characters are entirely fictional. I drew on my own emotions when writing, so when I felt sadness or fear, my protagonist experienced similar feelings. Her journey comes from imagination shaped by personal reflection, not real-life events.
How long did it take to write The Fire Within?
The story grew over several years. My fascination with Greek mythology started in school, but the actual writing took time as I experimented, refined my voice, and learned how to translate ideas into a full story.
What inspired you to write this book?
I fell in love with Greek mythology in history class. Later, I read fantasy stories about the gods and wanted to explore a different perspective: a mortal who refuses to accept the rules the gods have set for her.
