Meet Gemma Greenway
I first stumbled on Greek mythology in a history class. The gods, their stories, and the old medical practices fascinated me. I remember thinking, how did people believe this? How did these stories survive? That curiosity led me to read fantasy novels about Greek gods, and soon I wanted to write my own stories.
Writing in Secret
For a long time, I kept my writing private. I was shy and worried someone would laugh at it. Then a friend found one of my early stories. She didn’t laugh. She read it, asked questions, and told me I should keep writing. That encouragement was all I needed to take it seriously.
Making the Stories Mine
I still get nervous sharing my work, but I’ve learned to trust the story itself. My characters aren’t based on real people, but they are shaped by my emotions. When I felt sadness or excitement, my main character felt it too. Writing became a way to explore feelings and possibilities I couldn’t in everyday life.
